The yellow prawn-goby is an extremely charming, interesting and above all, useful fish. It is an important member of the clean-up crew in any reef tank as it likes to dwell through sand bottoms, filtering sand through its gills in search for food particles.

It can be kept in pairs and even more fun is to keep them together with a pistol shrimp of the Alpheus genus (Alpheus bellulus, Alpheus ochrostiatus or Alpheus rapicida). The shrimp digs and maintains the sand cave and the goby provides food and protection, they form as they call it a symbiotic relationship.

In short, a great addition to any reef aquarium! Just keep in mind that these fish are territorial, therefore provide them with enough space and rocks and hiding places.
